Guide

How do I get a scale model for a government or smart-city presentation?

Start with the decision the model must support, then share master drawings, scale, venue and date with a model maker experienced in public projects. RD Models has built models for government agencies and infrastructure bodies, including airports, water supply and urban masterplans, and handles transport and on-site installation.

What a public-sector model needs to do

  • Show the whole project and its context so stakeholders can see phasing and connections.
  • Be accurate to the approved drawings, with clear labelling and legends.
  • Be robust enough to travel between review meetings and exhibitions.
  • Be delivered and installed by the deadline of the presentation or inauguration.

How to brief the studio

Provide master plans and sections, the area to be modelled, the viewing audience and the venue. Mention any lighting, labelling or interactive features you need, and the date of the presentation.

Relevant experience

RD Models' portfolio includes airport and aviation models, water supply and wastewater facilities, institutional and cultural projects, and township masterplans for public bodies and developers. See the Government & Infrastructure page for examples.
